I thought that this is significant enough to break my weekly news cycle to post.

Having worked in large Corporations and worked extensively with Chinese companies, I know the effort that has gone into this document. I also know the importance of this document… it is not a ‘sales document’ but careers are being bet on some of these statements and bonus payments made if these targets are met!

Statements like the one below cover a lot

Geely Holding will focus on “strengthening the “Geely” corporate brand,” while building a global brand matrix of its portfolio brands with clear positioning, distinctiveness, and mutual empowerment. Geely Holding will fully leverage the brand advantages of Geely Auto, Geely Galaxy, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr, giving full play to their “home advantage” and access to localized operational capabilities of global brands such as Volvo, Polestar, and Lotus in the European and American markets. In addition, the Group will work with international partners such as Renault Group to create a new paradigm of open, collaborative, and mutually beneficial brand cooperation.

…I don’t know enough but I think that it may be code for saying – we will use Volvo factories in the USA to build Lynk & Co and Zeekrs

Geely Holding will continue to strengthen the deep synergy of safety technologies within the group, creating a synergetic “world-class safety dual-pole” between Volvo Cars and Geely Auto. People associate Volvo with Safety – tick. What is Volvo saying about the next generation of safety? They have been suggesting that they need to make the whole ecosystem safer, cars that talk to one another when someone hits the brakes hard. Messages that transmit from emergency vehicles to your car.

Cultivating a technology-driven and service-oriented organizational structure and talent pool is crucial for Geely Holding’s transformation into a technology-driven enterprise.

People are critical and they understand that.

Geely Holding Group also announced its key targets for 2030: to achieve global sales exceeding 6.5 million vehicles (passenger cars + commercial vehicles), revenue exceeding 1 trillion RMB, ranking among the top five global automakers in sales, reached a new energy vehicle penetration rate of 75%, sales outside of China accounting for more than one-third of the Group’s annual total, and develop world-class new energy architectures covering A- to E-class models that reduces the average R&D cycle and overall cost per model by over 30%.
